As a Sr. Market Data Manager you will manage and provide strategic direction and functional/technical expertise in the market data management space and will develop, cultivate and provide guidance to key internal and external stakeholders to enhance services and improve existing processes and efficiency. In this role, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining business relationships on all levels to maximize the value of market data services while demonstrating extensive technology expertise across multiple platforms and provide solutions to drive revenue growth. RESPONSIBILITIES
•Develops and maintains strategic direction of Market Data. Works closely with business and technology partners to gain/maintain buy-in and support. •Defines a roadmap through collaboration and communicates the strategy to drive buy-in. •Identify, research, analyze and resolve complex business issues. •Drives business solutions to ensure they meet the business needs balanced with a pragmatic and integrated approach to the strategic direction of the Enterprise Data Management group and the firm. •Understands and applies enterprise wide thinking to individual departmental requests for to ensure end-to-end process and data integration are achieved. •Defines goals for market data management and reports on them regularly. •Influences the prioritization of business unit technology projects in the market data space to ensure strategic business objectives are met and risk is managed. •Ensures processes and deliverables are documented and all resources (EDM, Business and IT resources) understand their responsibilities in this process. •Partners with Procurement and Chief Technology Office to assess how business and technologies can best streamline processes and/or add business value. •Provides quick project turnarounds and flexibility by leveraging knowledge and industry best practices. •Remains up to date on key business, industry and market trends. •Develops budget, annual goals and objectives; holds organization accountable for attaining goals and objectives.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
•Minimum of a B.S. in Computer Science, MIS or related degree and seven (7) years of related experience including management or leadership experience or a combination of education, training and experience. •Financial services industry experience required. •Experience providing strategic planning and building relationships. •Experience with Financial Data Terminal Services (i.e., Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters). •Experience managing market data expenses. •Experience managing market data architecture, and multiple migration plans. •Knowledge of how securities are traded electronically and criteria to update calculated data points. •Experience with third party outsourcing functions and vendor management. •Thorough knowledge/understanding of technology infrastructure, platforms.
