Is accountable for the strategic direction and successful implementation of vendor management strategy to drive business and/or revenue growth and/or improve efficiencies. Maintains oversight in a highly regulated environment and ensures that the Technology department is operating with proper controls. Ability to build successful relationships with multiple levels of leadership in Technology, Procurement, Supplier Risk Management and the CIO is key to success. Extensive contact with all management levels and other internal customers is required to identify, research, analyze and resolve complex issues with potential for substantial impact.
Responsibilities Drives IT vendor management solutions to ensure they meet the business needs balanced with a pragmatic and integrated approach to solutions. Able to weigh alternatives, develop approach and balance conflicting needs. Leads team that maintains vendor classification for over 500 vendors, reviews contracts, monitors SLAs in applicable contracts and tracks and ensures vendors are meeting/exceeding Key Performance Indicators (KPI). Builds contract management and negotiation strategy, develops negotiation approaches and may lead efforts in high dollar acquisitions, personally negotiate, draft and finalize complex contracts. Responsible for focus on critical vendors and ensuring contingency plans and exit strategies are in place. Leads the process to access vendor performance, reviews scorecards and analyzes data to provide feedback and make recommendations. Delivers enterprise wide strategic thinking to IT investments to ensure integration is achieved. Accountable for vendor risk mitigation and management by evaluating and quantifying risks and consulting on risk exposure. Leads projects to successful completion as defined by predetermined project success criteria including those established by the business, capital expenditure and budget requirements. Influences the prioritization of business unit technology projects, optimal project structure and project administration to ensure strategic business objectives are met and risk is managed. Partners with senior leaders to assess how vendor management can best streamline processes and/or add business value. Conducts competitive analysis and supplier benchmarking to make recommendations. Remains up to date on key technology, business and industry trends, and market and pricing trends. Accountable for budget and annual goals and objectives; holds organization accountable for attaining goals and objectives.
EXPERIENCE and Skills Minimum of a B.S. in Business, Finance, MIS or related degree and ten (10) plus years of relevant experience including leadership experience or combination of education, training and experience.
Experience in technical vendor management for large scale development and outsourcing partnerships, including specific experience managing vendors for offshore work. Financial services experience. Incumbents may be required to travel up to 25 percent.
